Mahaffey Pickens Tucker, LLP and Hipes & Belle Isle, LLC are pleased to announce the merger of their two firms, which will operate under the name Mahaffey Pickens Tucker, LLP. The merger will significantly enlarge the firms' operations and services in Gwinnett County and the Georgia 400 Corridor, expanding its full-service practice across the Atlanta/North Metro market. The newly expanded firm offers top-tier legal representation in banking and finance, corporate/transactional, real estate, land use and rezoning, personal injury, business and commercial litigation, construction, and employment law.
Effective October 1, David Belle Isle will join MPT as a Partner in the Real Estate and Banking practice groups and will head up the firm's Alpharetta location at the previous offices of Hipes & Belle Isle in Alpharetta, Georgia at 178 South Main Street, Suite 250. John Hipes will join MPT as Of Counsel in the Commercial Litigation practice group.
Mr. Belle Isle specializes in closing commercial real estate and other secured-transaction loans, involving both conventional and Small Business Administration 7(a) and 504 funding. He has experience designing and implementing documentation strategies to collateralize real estate, equipment, income streams, guaranties, and lease obligations. He represents national, regional, and local banks in term loans, lines of credit, and construction loans, facilitating the refinance and purchase of mid-rise office buildings, shopping centers, assisted-living facilities, auto dealerships, franchises, hotels, restaurants, skate rinks, bowling allies, multi-family developments, inventory, and equipment. He represents landlords and tenants in leases involving retail, office, and industrial warehouse facilities; lease-purchase transactions, and management and asset-purchase agreements. Mr. Belle Isle also assists clients in the creation of corporations, limited liability corporations, and partnerships.
Mr. Hipes practices commercial litigation, including insurance coverage and interpretation, construction, real estate, employment, partnership and shareholder disputes, and tort and injury law. He has successfully resolved and tried numerous lawsuits on behalf of residential and commercial policyholders, including issues involving bad faith, unfair claims practices, fraud, arson, theft, cancellation procedures, protective safeguard endorsements, and coverage interpretation.
