Kassie Prater is part of the Commercial Real Estate and Land Use & Zoning Group of Mahaffey Pickens Tucker, LLP. Her practice includes representing clients in the purchase, sale, leasing, and development of all types of improved and unimproved commercial real estate, as well as advising property owners and developers on land use and zoning matters.
Ms. Prater received her Juris Doctor degree with honors from Louisiana State University Paul M. Herbert's School of Law, where she graduated in the top 18% of her class and obtained a CALI Award for Excellence in her Advanced Legal Research Class. While in law school, Ms. Prater served as a Board Member and Senior Editor for the Journal for Social Justice and Policy, a Junior Associate for the Journal of Civil Law Studies, a tutor and teach assistant for the first year Obligations class, and a Research Assistant for Professor Summer Chandler.
Ms. Prater earned her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in English, summa cum laude, from the University of Georgia. During her time as an Undergraduate, she served as a writing tutor for the undergraduate tutor's pilot program at the University of Georgia's writing center. In her free time, Ms. Prater enjoys spending time with her family and dogs where she resides in the Winder area.
