Mahaffey Pickens Tucker rejected Defendant's settlement offer of $225,000 for a botched shoulder surgery choosing to take their chances at trial.  The Gwinnett County jury rewarded that willingness to go to trial by returning a verdict of $1,900,000. This was the 18th highest verdict in Georgia for the year 2018.
